Experience Tall Ships!
Come sailing aboard the SSV Tole Mour to Catalina! We will crew the ship, snorkel and study marine biology. The expeditions aboard the SSV Tole Mour are a fantastic opportunity for students to gain experiences that will last a lifetime.
This experience will be one of the highlights of your child’s educational experiences. Please be prepared to submit deposits. Visit www.tolemour.com to see the ship, the crew, and the oppurtunity for a student to sail during the summer as an independent camper.

TALL SHIPS INFORMATION
Arrival: Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, CA (map), the Tole Mour is docked at pier #6. Turn south on Pine Ave from Shoreline Drive. and pull up to the loading/unloading curb to unload.
Activities: We will sail aboard the Tole Mour, a 156’ tall ship, for much of the first day. The students have oceanography and navigation classes while under sail. We will snorkel in the kelp forests, learn how to hoist sails, and maintain the boat by washing dishes, swabbing the deck, and polishing the brass. The students have a fairly rigorous schedule with wake-up at 6:30 a.m. They are well fed and really appreciate the cook.
Remedies: If you want to prevent seasickness, don’t eat fatty or acidic foods prior to sailing. Bring ginger ale, gingersnaps or 7-Up to offset a queasy stomach. Non-drowsy medications are available over the counter. If you are lucky, you won’t need anything. However, everyone will eat a bagel and have one tablet of medication when we get to the steps of the harbor. It is always better to prevent seasickness than to remedy it once it begins.
What to Bring: Sleeping Bag, pillow, rubber-soled shoes, bathing suit, towel, sweatshirt, sunscreen, toothbrush and toothpaste. If they would like to buy a sweatshirt with the ship’s logo, bring $22. On the drive home the students will stop at In-N-Out for dinner, so bring $5 for the meal.
