Valley Oaks Charter School is located at 3401 Chester Avenue, south of the Kern County Museum and north of Garces Circle. It is centrally located and has regular GET bus service.
Valley Oaks Charter School is fully accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

BOOK CHECKOUT
Thank you parents for your patience and understanding during our process of changing our library check out system.
You can now check-out the following:
Kids Discover Magazines
California Chronicles
Primary Phonics Readers
Harcourt Science Kits
Science in a Nutshell Kits
Math Manipulative Kits
We are also opening up the library for check-outs, but none of the books in the library are in our new system. The library book will have to be input into the system as they are checked out. This is not the quickest of processes, so please continue your patience. We are also limiting the number of books a student can check-out to 5 while the library is still being set up.

Due dates for library books this year. Students will be allowed to keep books for 20 school days, which ends up being closer to a month, and the student will not be allowed to check out more books if they have overdue books. A receipt can be printed that has the due dates for checked-out books for parents/student to keep track of.
HOMESCHOOL DAY AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN
November 6, 2009 is Homeschool Day at Magic Mountain from 10:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.. Tickets are $22.99 per person and are available by calling 661-255-4500 group tickets or online - www.sixflags.com/magicMountain - go to the bottom of the home page and look for group tickets. Parent need only identify themselves as a homeschooling parent.
