High School Announcements
Revised: 2/2/10
Newest Announcements:
*The Pennies for Patients campaign for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society will start on February 1st. We would greatly appreciate any contribution you are able to make. 90 cents on the dollar stays in Kern County so it is a way for us to give to our community. Save your spare change and turn in it to the many boxes around our campus. Boxes will be placed in the classrooms and the high school lobby. Pennies, dimes, nickels, dollars, and even checks made out to LLS are accepted. Your contribution, no matter how much, can make a difference. If Valley Oaks school wide raises $1000 or more Mr. VanderNoor will shave his head for the cause.
*Student Leaders: We are in need of a few high school students 10th, 11, or 12th grade students, who have been with VOCS high school for at least one academic year and are currently in good academic standing. Your task would be to host a VOCS junior high student, during your class time on Tuesdays and/or Fridays. Junior high students need an understanding of what high school life is like. Having your perspective as a student is key. Please contact Mr. VanderNoor if you are interested in being a big brother or sister to our very own junior high students. (jevandernoor@kern.org or 852-6753)
*ABI System: Hopefully everyone is logged into the new ABI system and is accessing your student's school information? To understand how to look at all of your student's information a workshop will be available on February 11th, 2010, at 4:00 pm. The workshop will last about 45 minutes. If you are having trouble creating an account or logging into the system, please contact Julie Morris at 852-6751. Turn out for the first ABI workshop was quite low. Please sign up with Mr. VanderNoor to attend the workshop. (jevandernoor@kern.org or 852-6753)
