Valley Oaks High School "Aboard the Tole Mour" For the entirety of their voyage, campers will be immersed in sail training, marine science, and teamwork aboard the largest sailing school vessel on the West Coast, the Tole Mour. During the trip, the campers will get instruction in sailing the ship, as the professional crew gradually turns over the responsibility of running the ship to the trainee crew. Our instructors will also be guiding the campers through marine science lessons on various topics and water activities, including snorkeling & diving in kelp forests, boogie boarding at remote beaches, and kayaking in the most beautiful locations in the Channel Islands. Activities like climbing aloft, steering, standing watch, and cleaning the ship are integral parts of the voyage, and help campers challenge themselves while building a sense of responsibility for their new floating home. There is also plenty of pure summer camp fun, allowing campers to be themselves while making new friends in a creative environment.
