Welcome to the 8th Grade

This is an exciting year because it is the last year before high school.

Language Arts will be slightly different this year.  There is a new reading anthology entitled Literature.

There is also anew vocabulary/spelling book entitled Word Wise.  The rest of the 8th grade grid remains unchanged.

The 8th grade year brings a little different challenge to your student: the Constitution graduation requirement.  This requirement may seem like a huge hurdle, but all of the students who put forth the effort will accomplish this goal.

I strongly recommend that your student attend the Constitution class either first semester or second.  All information needed, instruction, and the required testing will take place during that 11-week class session.

If you have any questions concerning this graduation requirement please feel free to email or call me.

The class runs from 10:20 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and will help your student satisfy the Constitution requirement for graduation.  Parents are required to attend class on September 9th to better prepare students for testing.  Class will end on December 9th.
