It’s EXTRAVAGANZA time again! Valley Oaks Charter School is celebrating its students and families on Thursday May 15, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be great food and fun for the whole family.

Available parking will be at the Kern County Museum, Strambler Park, and on Chester Avenue. Families should enter the grounds at the south gate (oak tree) entrance.

See an impressive display of VOCS student work and projects from throughout the year!

Don't miss the talent show! Acts start at 5:00 p.m. and will include gymnastics, dance, classical guitar, rock bands, singing, piano, saxophone, comedy, and the one act play, "This is a Test" by our high school drama students. A video will also be playing in the warehouse of the "Jump/Leap/Spring Into Music" performances we've had throughout the year.

Dinner will be an excellent "deep pit style" roast beef, green salad, chili beans, dinner roll, and bottle of water. Pre-sale price is $10, price at the door is $15. Dinner will be served from 5:30 until 7:00. Pizza will also be available by the slice for $2 (8 tickets), or a whole pizza for $12. Drinks will be $1 (4 tickets).

Purchase your tickets early and save! Game tickets are 5 for $1 pre-sale and available at the front desk, tickets will be 4 for $1 at the door. Wristbands that will let a student play unlimited games are available for pre-sale at the front desk for $5, and at the door for $8.

Baskets to be raffled off include: The Best of Bakersfield, Birthday Bonanza, Family Summer Fun, Fit and Fun, Music Basket, Pismo Getaway, Soaring High Over the Best of Tehachapi, Sports Nut, The Best of Valley Oaks, and Valley Oaks Porch Rocker. Click here for descriptions of all the baskets. Tickets for the basket raffle will be $1 each.

New this year is a reverse drawing! Tickets are $5. The first five tickets drawn will win $25. The next four tickets drawn win $50. And the tenth ticket drawn wins $500!
