HISTORY CAMP IS JUST AROUND THE BEND

Learn about life without modern electricity or other modern comforts, then demonstrate what you learned on Living History Day, April 12th.

April 9th - 11th:  8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Monday - Wednesday at the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Avenue

April 12th:  8:30 a.m. – 12:30 on Thursday at the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Avenue

 

 

Valley Oaks will be offering a 4 day history camp Apr. 9th - 12th. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday your child will learn different pioneer activities and games. On Thursday they will all be a part of the Living History Day presentation for the visitors to the Kern County Museum. There is a fee for the camp and it will run from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 

Learn crafts and skills such as:

HistoryCamp2: Leather working, pioneer activities, one-room schoolhouse experience, embroidery, branding, pioneer toys and music, pinch pots, oil paper windows, western justice, rope making, cooking, candle making, and much more!

 

Sign ups begin March 19th for students K - 8th. Space is limited. To allow more student participation, please only sign up for one or the other. If you are willing to beparent volunteer, please let Mr. Owens or Mrs. Dane. Parent help his both appreciated and needed. The $20 per student fee offsets some of the cost for materials and includes lunch on Thursday. Sign up at the front desk.
