Attention all Government students and their families:

We have been invited to attend a National Issue Forum on Regaining American Prosperity at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley on December 2.

The bus will leave Valley Oaks at 7:00 a.m. Our participation in the library tour and National Issue Forum will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bring a sack lunch as there will not be time for you to purchase lunch at the Library. We will return to Bakersfield at approximately 5:00 p.m. As with our previous outing, all students enrolled in the class are expected to attend and there will be a major assignment associated with this trip

The Library staff has planned many activities for us. Details about the actual activities were discussed in the government class on November 20.

This is an official school function, so you are expected to comply with the school dress code. Since a portion of our visit will be spent walking and touring the facilities, wear comfortable shoes.

This will be a great opportunity for you to engage in learning activities beyond your textbook, to be intellectually challenged and to interact with students your age from other communities in California.

Like our visit to the Appellate Court, there will be a major assignment associated with this field trip. Reserve the date now. I expect ALL students who are enrolled in the class to attend this field trip on December 2.

Feel free to call me any time for a grade update. However, parents should know that students in the Friday class are given printed grade progress reports at least every other week. Ask to see your student's grade reports after class on Friday.
