Valley Oaks Charter School is located at 3401 Chester Avenue, south of the Kern County Museum and north of Garces Circle. It is centrally located and has regular GET bus service.

News and Views from Frazier Park
Happy New Year from cool Frazier Park! We are beginning the new year with a variety of new projects.
Eighth graders are continuing a Constitution class on January 8th, 15th, 21st, and 29th from 12:30 - 1:30, and math tutoring for 7th and 8th graders scheduled for Thursdays from 11:00 - 12:00. K - 2 continues a reading program in February, and an art class is also planned.
In February our 4th - 6th sixth grades will focus on proficiency writing and creative short stories. Seventh and eighth grades will cover mini lessons on basic writing (focusing on models of good writing), how to write an essay, and group creative play writing. Classes will take place on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 - 3:00 (7th and 8th) and 3:30 - 4:30 (4th - 6th) starting February 12th. We are stressing all kinds of writing this year, and this is one opportunity to write, proofread, and do some peer editing and evaluation in a small class situation. Parents are also encouraged to read the rough draft and suggest ideas and corrections. Some of the best work will possibly go on display at open house (Extravaganza).
Frazier Park extends good wishes and a Happy New Year to all of our Valley Oaks Families. We also want to thank all the Frazier Park families who donated to our holiday food basket. It was very much appreciated by the family involved.
