Assignments
UPDATED 4/17/2008
ATTENTION PARENTS AND STUDENTS
I am going to begin enforcing a policy for late work, from today until the last day of the semester, as follows:
-Late (meaning not turned in on the due date) and up to one week late: -10% (one grade)
-After one week and up to two weeks: -50%
-After two weeks: Assignment receives a grade of 0%.
To excuse lateness, parents may call and leave me a message on my voicemail or meet with me (not through internet) to excuse a student's late work if a legitimate reason is provided. If you leave me a phone message, I will only call you back if I have questions. If you don't hear from me you can assume that the lateness was excused. Students should never leave English work in my box, as I require all students to sign in for each assignment they turn in.

Unit 7:
English 10P 15 April 2008
Dear Parent:
Your student of World Literature 10P is beginning a five week English Final Exam Project. This project includes an individual research paper and a group presentation, which includes a timeline, a map, examples of culture, a model of architecture, and food from the nation chosen.
Students will need time at a library, as well as Internet time. Obviously, your student will have time in class to share out information with their group. Clearly, with a project this involved, they may need extra time outside of school with their group to complete the requirements for a project of this magnitude.
I intend to keep homework to a bare minimum during the next six weeks, but you need to be aware that this project IS the homework. There is absolutely NO way that your student can get this done at the last minute!
Thank you, as always, for taking an interest in your student’s activities!
Sincerely,
Ms. Sherman
