Valley Oaks Charter School is located at 3401 Chester Avenue, south of the Kern County Museum and north of Garces Circle. It is centrally located and has regular GET bus service.
Valley Oaks Charter School is fully accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Gearing Up!
It seems it was just a few short weeks ago that we were gearing down … Now, here we are already gearing up for the new school year. We hope that you have been enjoying some wonderful family time, relaxing in the shade, visiting with family and friends, and getting away to some exhilarating places of interest. In other words, we hope you have been enjoying your summer vacation At Valley Oaks we are making lots of preparations for the 2010-2011 school year. Book inventories, supply orders, lesson planning, enrichment planning, and cleaning have been keeping us busy. We have great plans for monthly parent workshops and have already lined up a long list of some fabulous field trips. We can’t wait to roll out our new MESH (math, English, science, history) drawers, filled with lots of wonderful materials for your studies. All sites are planning their Back to School get-togethers and we are busy updating the website with the new year’s handbooks, grids, and web links. Watch for your newsletter to arrive in your mailbox around the beginning of August. In the meantime, keep up the vacation mode and we’ll keep gearing up for August 23rd, the first day of school!
